Jack Flynn
Jack Flynn is an independent consultant in human resources management. .
Jack recently retired as vice president of human resources for International Paper, where he headed the company's global transformation of HR service delivery. From 1995 to 1998, he was president of International Paper Investments, based in Moscow, where he spearheaded International Paper’s operations in the former Soviet Union. He has also served as a director of Avocet Capital Management (London) and on the board of business advisors of Authoria, Inc.
Prior to joining International Paper in 1976, Jack led management startup teams in two Cabinet-level agencies of the U.S. government, where he received the distinguished service award for his service on President Gerald Ford’s nuclear nonproliferation policy project. Earlier, Jack was a senior associate of the consulting firm Cresap, McCormick and Paget, and he served in the U.S. Air Force as a Russian language specialist. Jack received a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of California at Berkeley and an MBA in international business from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
Jack has presented case studies in HR strategy, HR service delivery and application of HR information technology at Columbia University, HR Forum (Queen Elizabeth 2), and seminars sponsored by leading consultants and software vendors.
